Artisan | Marilyn was born and raised in Manitoba. She graduated with a B.Sc. from the University of Manitoba, and worked in the Information Technology field in several provinces in Canada. She has called Richmond home since 1991.
After retirement in 1996, Marilyn became interested in decoupage. She is self-taught and developed her own techniques for designing, applying the cutouts and finishing the surface of the pieces. The finish is built up through many applications of three types of varnish. While her goal is to make attractive " table art " for the home, she also wants her work to be functional and useful over a long period of time, and she wants it to be fun. This gave her the idea of making coasters that fit together like a puzzle to solve. She also creates pots, serving trays and napkin rings using the same decoupage techniques.
At present, Marilyn divides her time between her decoupage craft and free-lance writing | Homepage: not available

Chartered Accountant | Bruce, took over as CA of the CACR for the 2005/2006 financial period and has been our accountant ever since. He is well versed in "plain talk" when it comes to financial and accounting matters, making it easy for everyone to understand what could otherwise be difficult to comprehend. As a partner in a large, well respected accounting firm, he brings with him all the resources of a large firm with the ease and friendliness of the "guy next door". The CACR has no hesitation in recommending Bruce for any group, organization or business large or small and we thank Bruce for all his help and guidance thus far.

Woodwork | Born in Holland, Klaas has lived in Richmond since 1951 and has been woodturning for over 15 years.
He uses locally grown wood, or wood saved from landfill or fireplace, using knotted crotch wood, burl and cavity filled wood, he fills holes with epoxies and pigments to create solid stock from which to work from. He creates pieces which show the wood grain and pattern. Each piece reflects the individual character of the wood. The finishing process can take up to 2-3 weeks of daily work thus bringing out the best the wood has to offer both in colour and depth.
